Horse of the Night

MAKE IT WORK (11TH) : Tough as nails gelding is at the top of his game right now as he guns for his third straight score and his fifth in his last seven starts. He has “gutted” out his last two wins here holding on to win by a neck after carving out all the splits. He’s drawn inside once again so the strategy figures to be the same for him. Put him on top from the word go, get a breather somewhere along the way and then hold on gamely for another trip to the winner’s circle

Press Box Parlays

WIN : SISTER’S KEEPER (6TH) WITH MAKE IT WORK (11TH)
PLACE : DOZER (5TH) WITH SUNSET DREAMER (9TH)

Tonight's Long Shots

SUGARCREEKANNIE (2ND)
ANOTHER BEAUTY (3RD)

Keep an Eye On These

DOZER (5TH) : Beaten favorite wound up getting collared late in the mile last time out. He was a sharp winner two back though and if he can avoid traffic issues from the second tier he could get back on the winning track.
SUNSET DREAMER (9TH) : Ships over from Balmoral where he took a new life mark in his last victory. He’s been flashing good speed and that will serve him well as he bids for his fourth straight score.
INCREDIBLE FILLY (10TH) : Speedball ships in off the fair circuit where she has paced some big miles since getting off to a late start this year. She’s no stranger to the winner’s circle here and if she can make the top she could prove tough to catch.

Backstretch Info

SISTERS KEEPER (6TH) : Parlayed a perfect ground saving trip into a long overdue victory in her last start here. This filly has ability and it looks like she’s starting to come into her own after getting a late start to her second season. She has a win and two thirds in her last three starts and with her nice turn of speed she appears perfectly suited for the half-mile oval. If she can make the lead tonight she could be very tough to collar with this group.
